Wolves are becoming more rare in Finland, as a result of hunting and culling programs. So seeing this male on a cold morning was "magical," says Your Shot photographer Bernt Østhus. Wolves are "a rare sight in the winter time," he says. "They are more commonly photographed in the summertime."
In Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, a stream of lava pours into the ocean. Your Shot photographer Joseph Anthony captured the moment from a boat at sunrise. He says, "Seeing new earth being created in front of my eyes was an incredibly moving experience."
A porcelain crab peeks out from its home in an anemone off the coast of Thailand. To avoid being stung, the crab coats itself in the anemone's mucus, making the anemone's tentacles incapable of detecting the crab's presence.
